The White-clad Eyo masquerade represents the spirit of the ancestors. Eyo tradition dates back to 1854, held to accompany the soul of a dead Lagos King (Oba) or Chief (Otunba) and to pay respects to the ancestors (AsiriMagazine, 2015).
